As a Riley owner you may have heard or read about the Riley Rendezvous Events that have taken place in South Africa.
The first event, held in October 2004, took the cars through the Garden Route area around Knysna, with most of the cars tackling the mighty Swartberg Pass. Entrants from the UK and Australia were welcomed either in their own cars or loan cars.
The second Riley Rendezvous (RRv 2) was held in October of 2007 in and around the Battlefields of Kwa-Zulu Natal. Again Rileys from all corners of South Africa were joined by Australian cars and UK entrants.
The third edition of the Riley Rendezvous (RRv 3) will take participants on a journey through the Eastern Cape, starting and finishing in Port Elizabeth, or the Nelson Mandela Metropole as the environs are now named. The circular route of about 800 miles has stop overs at Addo (near the Elephant Park), the Mountain Zebra Park, Graaff-Reniett, Oudtshoorn, Knysna and Storms River. The drive winds from sea level to about 6 000 ft and traverses the passes of "Olifants Kop", "Wapadsberg", "Naudespas", "Meiringspoort" and not for the feint hearted, the "Prince Alfred's Pass" that masterpiece by the legendary pass builder Thomas Bain. A stop at the "Valley of Desolation" is also scheduled.
Entries have now closed (31 August 2011). Late entries will be considered on merit. An informal feeder from Cape Town is to leave the N2 Engem One Stop on Wednesday, 12 October 2011 (meet at 09h30), stopping in Swellendam and Plettenberg Bay, to arrive in Port Elizabeth for the Welcoming Dinner. A return trip to Cape Town is planned, starting in PE on Monday 24 October 2011 via Prince Albert and Sutherland. A final gathering is planned at the month end Natter at the Crankhandle Club on Sunday 30 October 2011.

The ‘RILEY RENDEZVOUS III’ Tour is to be held in South Africa in October 2011.
LOCATION - The event will be centred around the Eastern Cape.
DATES - The Main event will start with a Welcome Dinner on Friday the 14th of October 2011 at the Protea Marine Hotel, Port Elizabeth. The tour will finish at the same venue on Sunday the 23nd of October 2011. For more detail see "PROGRAM"
ELIGIBILITY – The Tour is open to all Riley Vehicles.
ENTRY FEE – Including accommodation - as per "Booking Form", approx R 10 000 per person for the full tour will all excursiions.
INDEMNITY – A form indemnifying the organizers will be required. This is availabel under "FORMS"
DEPOSIT – Have been received.
NUMBER OF ENTRIES – As at 01 September 2011, 26 entries with 11 cars.
SUPPORT VEHICLE – A support vehicle and luggage vehicle may follow the tour.
SHIPPING OF VEHICLES – This remains the responsibility of the owners.
ROUTE – The route is subject to change and may include some short gravel sections.
